About This Project

Siren's Sorrow is a horror game created dfor the Global Game Jam 2025 with the theme "bubbles".

The game follows a treasure hunter exploring a corrupted temple full of deadly sirens, who pursue the player to stop them from stealing their idol.

My Role

  • Level Design:
    Designed the temple layout with a focus on player flow, claustrophobia, helplessness, and maze-like navigation.
  • User Experience:
    Focused on tension-building mechanics that kept the player in a constant state of alert.
  • Gameplay Design:
    Contributed to gameplay decisions in collaboration with the team, ensuring alignment between mechanics and level design.

The biggest challenge and lesson from this jam was learning to think outside the box. At first, our team’s ideas around the theme "bubbles" leaned toward the expected cute and lighthearted interpretation. Over time, we decided to pivot and explore bubbles from a more unsettling angle, separating the concept from its usual cheerful associations.
